Expectations and Homework
This course is designed to be interactive, engaging, and practical. Students will not only learn about health and nutrition but will also put their knowledge into action. To get the most out of this class, students are expected to: - Stay engaged with the material by reading the assigned sections of the textbook and completing workbook exercises each week. - Demonstrate understanding through occasional at-home proctored tests that assess mastery of key concepts. - Apply healthy habits in real life, such as occasionally tracking macros, trying simple exercises, or making mindful nutrition choices. - Participate in hands-on projects—individually, in small groups, and as a class—to bring concepts to life in a fun and meaningful way. - Join classroom discussions, both in person and on Google Classroom, to share insights, ask questions, and deepen their understanding. On average, students should expect to spend about 1 hour per day (4 hours per week) on coursework outside of class. The goal is to make learning health and nutrition both educational and enjoyable, equipping students with lifelong skills for personal and family wellness.
